That scumbag should get 30 knife wounds to the chest. Then he should have one of his testicles cut off and forced into his mouth. Then Richard Grant can go up and pretend to help him, then punch him.

Max Kellerman can avenge his brother's death by either finishing off this waste of human flesh with a gunshot to the chest, or make Butler watch a fight with Kellerman of a prime Pernell Whitaker or Roy Jones.

Boxer sentenced to nearly 30 years for killing writer

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Boxer James Butler Jr., who fought under the moniker "The Harlem Hammer," was sentenced Wednesday to nearly 30 years in prison for the death of sports journalist Sam Kellerman.
The 33-year-old Butler will also pay $27,753 in funeral expenses to Kellerman's family and $11,881 in restitution to the owner of the victim's apartment, which was left torched and blood-soaked after the killing, said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the district attorney's office.

The 29-year-old victim's body was found in his Hollywood apartment on Oct. 17, 2004, near a hammer.

The boxer pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and arson as jury selection was set to begin in his trial on March 27.

Butler and Kellerman, the younger brother of New York-based boxing expert and talk show host Max Kellerman, had been friends and the boxer had been staying at the freelance writer's apartment, police said.

Prosecutors believe the attack came as Butler was having a tough time reviving his career, and was depressed about a souring relationship with his girlfriend, who was the mother of his child, Robison said.

"It's possible Mr. Kellerman asked him to move out or there was a disagreement over how long he could stay with him and it resulted in him picking up a hammer," she said. "The judge called it 'a slaughter.'"

Butler has a pro record of 20-5-0, with 12 wins by knockout. He is best known for sucker-punching opponent Richard Grant in November 2001 after losing a charity bout in New York.

Butler got off easy, HOPEFULLY this serves as a bit of closure to Max and his family, God bless them.

              30 YEARS?

Imagine how Max and family would feel knowing that their relative/brother's killer is walking the street as a free man in 30 years.

The dumbest thing is having Butler pay the funeral expenses (them accepting it too is kinda weird too).

Well in all honesty Grant was being extremely disrespectful during the fight...making sexual suggestions and such....you know to basically call Butler a ***** that couldn't hurt him. I felt that the punch was warranted (just like when Nate Cambell got KTFO for doing the ****** thing to Peden). Its a sport and these boys need to show respect to their oppponent. Grant didnt relize he was doing that ****** whoppper crap to one crazy mofo though and got what was coming to him. As for the murder...wtf do you guys expect his name is the Harlem Hammer
