Comments Thread For: Hearn: Crolla Granted Title Rematch With Perez By WBA

Anthony Crolla has been granted a rematch with Darleys Perez for the WBA World Lightweight champion following their controversial fight in Manchester on July 18.

Crolla produced a superb performance with the Colombian at the Manchester Arena and looked to have landed the belt after Perez had two points deducted for low blows in the latter rounds, only for the fight to be ruled a majority draw much to the dismay of the Manchester man and the packed home crowd.

‘Million Dollar’ now gets an immediate chance to land the crown and both Crolla and his promoter Eddie Hearn expressed their delight at the decision.

Seems a shame if Perez has to travel again.

    Still, I guess money talks.

Why is that a shame? Do you think he'd fight for $5000 in Columbia or fight for a large purse in the UK?

Exactly Perez is a no name in America who would earn a fraction of what he would get for fighting on the UK circuit. Thats why Richar Abril also went on a road tour ending up in the UK. Perez would have a great case to call the shots if he was booed by the fans and robbed on the scorecards. He was treated rather well. I had Crolla winning by 4 points including the deducted points.

Good. Hope he's able to reproduce last time's performance and walk away with the belt this time.

so this means perez has to fight again for free? he must be bummed. Still he should win the rematch if he can sort his footwork out.

Crolla fought well, and i had him winning the fight.
I've got a feeling that the rematch might be similar to the Smith Vs Abraham fights though, were the champion bites down and gets the job done second time around.

Fight was pretty boring. Perez was a huge disappointment considering I had him to win by KO. Crolla outworked him mostly and thought he should have got it.

I have no real interest in watching the rematch but I guess Crolla deserves one and they probably would have done it anyway without the WBA ruling. Not like people are lining up to fight Perez.

First fight I had Crolla winning but it was hardly emphatic, if they stack the undercard I'll go to it.

they can put smith vs a cabbie on it too, seing as rebrasse exposed him and gallaghers delusions of fighting degale or groves as pure fantasy.
