If there is no aggression like from say a Roberto Duran, Mike Tyson, Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Carmen Basilio, the whole thing seems like a waste of time. Doing enough to win just is not entertaining. The fighters who go after their opponent from first bell to last is what makes boxing and there is a serious lack of that these days.
Broner is not laid back, he is extremely flat footed so that he can try to ****. Outside of the Porter fight Broner has been in their for the KO for most of his career to his detriment. Leonard was never a pitty patty puncher until his late, late career.

You can't say Pernell Whittaker wasn't entertaining in his heyday either.

Have never seen Leonard or Hopkins fight like that.

The bad intentions in punches I mean.

Oh Broner is flat footed. But in their for the KO? Highly doubtful. He does not have an aggressive style. And with Leonard, how often did he go after an opponent? And Whitaker hardly ever showed any aggression either.

Me neither. Leonard could be aggressive if he got an opponent hurt, especially in his early days, but it was rare, although he did pummel the hell out of Floyd, Sr. Hopkins has had so many 10 punch a round, backing up fights that even if he ever did fight with aggression, who can remember?
