The Lemieux fight was a total cluster**** due to the promoters not getting their shit together in time. It had nothing to do with no one wanting to show the fight. It was a total mix of crap going on at the same time. It should not reflect on either fighter.

And when have I gave excuses? Number 1 the Geale fight was his voluntary defense. He should be fighting GGG, not Canelo. Have I defended that? No. I've stated plenty of times that Cotto should fight GGG. So don't try that bullshiiit.

Lemieux is a unification bout, that is a priority. Not sure how Golovkin can get criticized for attempting to unify his own division versus moving up a weight class to fight for shits & giggles.

Boxing fans always sh it on fighters for avoiding mandatories, not attempting to unify, not fighting the best in their division, etc. And here is Golovkin, trying to unify and trying to beat all the best fighters in his division. But no, before he can even get a chance to do that some fans want him to move up immediately and fight Ward, and lets be perfectly honest, the only reason some people want this fight right now is they think Golovkin might lose that fight. I'm sure that's a far better alternative in their minds versus watching Golovkin knockout their favorite fighters (Canelo, Cotto).

I find it amusing when Ward fans keep putting GGG down.
For f@ck's sake, both Ward and GGG (and their camps ) made statements that can be held against them. Remember Ward saying he can be a HW champ by age 31 or so.

There is no point in bringing these up. Fighters say funny things most of the time to promote themselves - that includes Ward and GGG.

Now what bothers me is that Ward who last fought at 172lbs is calling out a 160lbs champ when:

a) GGG has a lot of fights/business (or a lot to prove) at 160lbs
b) when there is a new set of fighters Ward can fight at 168lbs (assuming he can still make 168lbs)

I never once said anything about Ward not worth moving up for. I'm speaking the reality here.

GGG has a unification next and the WBC mandatory shot after that. No need to risk all that by fighting Ward, albeit a very very small risk, but still a risk nonetheless (he could get cut or break his hand when knocking Ward out, etc.).
