Amir Khan opens the door to Kell Brook fight in 2016

Amir Khan has revealed that talks have taken place with Kell Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn regarding an all-British clash at Wembley.

Last week, Matchroom's Hearn told Sky Sports that he would offer Khan a date in November to box IBF champion Brook but the Bolton puncher has claimed a potential fight must wait until next year.

Hearn said he messaged Khan when they attended Scott Quigg and Anthony Crolla's fights in Manchester last weekend and the former world champion has now expanded on that conversation.

"Eddie sent me a text and I invited him to Bolton," Khan told The National.

"We had a meeting at my office and we discussed everything for a potential fight against Brook in 2016."

Khan has forged a career in the United States, with his most recent three fights coming on the other side of the Atlantic, although his hopes of boxing Floyd Mayweather in September appear bleak.

But Khan now wants Brook's reputation to grow as big as his own before a fight between the pair would generate enough interest outside of the United Kingdom.

He said: "I have made it clear to Eddie that I want this fight to be a big fight worldwide, not just in the UK.

"I told him Kell needs to fight a couple of big names and beat them, obviously. That will make our fight even bigger.

"The fight will be a Khan Promotions and Matchroom Promotions event in the UK, at Wembley Stadium."

He "opened the door" to the fight after Brook beat Porter.

Then closed it when it came time to make it happen.

It's a big money fight right now and it was a big money fight at least a year ago. It is damn sure a bigger money fight than Khan has ever had in his career. Khan, quit stalling and fight Brook now unless you are afraid of losing to him. A win over Brook would earn you the respect of fans like me who think you are just a big talker and not one of the 6 best welterweights in the world. If you want more money fight Brook again in a rematch.

Why not fight him now. If you win you get a belt (something Floyd can add to his collection), and put yourself put there as the front runner to face Floyd, assuming Cotto loses his next fight.

I would like to see Khan vs Brook or Thurman, and the winner gets Floyd in May.

The door has always been open

People flip sht and act crazy because Khan has been talking it down....

The only way this fight wouldn't have happened is if: 1. Floyd fought Khan and 2. Khan beat Floyd

The possibly of them two things happening was/is very very slim.
