Comments Thread For: Hearn: Campbell, Coyle Want To Bash Each Other Up

Luke Campbell and Tommy Coyle are "acquaintances" and were never "friends", says Eddie Hearn.

Hull's lightweight duo have known each other for years but will collide in a fierce battle in their hometown on Saturday night, live on Sky Sports 1 HD at 8pm.

Tales of their closeness are wide of the mark, insists Matchroom promoter Hearn, who says their relationship begins and ends with the simple fact that they came up through the same city's boxing scene.

'There's a chance he is already the best lightweight in the world' haha. Typical hyperbole from Fast Car.

This is a great domestic fight, the kind of localised focus boxing needs to blood young fans of the sport.

Great for the city of Hull, if it really does draw anywhere 20,000 tickets sold as people are claiming, that's incredible.

He called them two of the best lightweights in the world after their last fights. Yes he referred to Tommy Coyle as one of the best in the world. Honestly, Campbell hasn't impressed me that much either.

This is such fake hype. They're pretending to hate each other now.
