We can see now Hopkins in the GBP businessman role who tries to sell the fight. I can't take this seriously. Given that Hearns style was nothing like either of these fighters and Hagler's style also not really like these fighters I think this is just a simple BS.
If it's anything it's the second Matthysse vs Provodnikov of the year (two pressure fighters, one of them is skilled, otherone is crude) which is cool but let's not compare it to Hearns vs Hagler two completely different fighters to Lemieux and Golovkin.

You would also not watch it on HBO for free so whats the difference ? you are not a boxing fan , you are a hater , even the guys who say its a joke ppv would see it for free (or pay 1$ which is the same).
if you like boxing and dont like this fight something is wrong with you , also trying to make the fans and GGG "piss off fishnet" is very mature of you....

But people bring up his loses and leave out how early his career when he was rushed too fast as kid and ignore the fact that he has been steam rolling good competition since. Hard concept but Fighters tend to improve with age and experience.

He is exactly the same age as Thurman yet when he fought Rubio Thurman was super protected fighting no named bums. The perception between these two fighters is only different now because one was handled with kid gloves his entire career.
This young man has been kept away from punchers since the Rubio loss, admittedly when he was a young up and comer(2008) There is a reason why Golden Boy has done that, he is chinny and it will be hugely tested on Oct 18th.

          The hyperbole is hilarious!

This thing is definitely going to sell out MSG. Hopefully they make these crazy claims in every media buy so it becomes a successful event on ppv too.

          Hagler-Hearns. LOL. SMDH.

Hagler is one of the best mw fighters but i think GGG would detsroy him

What are you talking about he has only been signed to Golden Boy less then a year and if they think he is chinny why is he fighting GGG? Golden Boy is not keeping him away from anybody they just put him in with the biggest puncher at 160. All I am saying is he suffered 2 losses when he was rushed too quickly when he was too young and inexperienced and this came under a different promoter not Golden Boy. Hell Manny Pacquiao lost not once but twice early in his boxing career in devasting KO fashion. 4 years after that he was much improved and destroyed Marco Antonio Barrea. Not saying Lemieux will beat GGG but all the talk about the Rubio loss when he was just a green kid. He is much improved and more experienced today.

Hopkins also said the first 3 rounds of Runweather vs Pacquiao would be like Hagler vs Hearns. No it won't be that good Ggg will over power him.

It's funny already Lemieux fans talk about him getting better with each fight, and I agree he is. But when it's described Gennady has gotten better with each fight, many won't allow that same observation to be true. It's just who you're a fan of. Gennady will blow Lemieux up, no fault to Lemieux, just that GGG is the next great to rule 160 for a long time.

Don't get carried away. Nobody ever destroyed Hagler. John the Beast Mugabi hit scary hard, had a war with Marvin, and didn't end well for Mugabi. Tommy Hearns was one of the scariest punchers ever; Hagler walked thru his bombs. Hagler was a different animal. Stay away from Fantasyland.
