Both are great fights and would love to see not only the winners fight but could match up the losers as well. Losers fight and the winner gets either a rematch or shot against the winners. Make it 4 man playoffs! Everyone makes money and the fans get amazing fights.

Canelo is young but he's already thinking about legacy and you can tell he's striving for greatness. Not sure if he'll do it, but I respect that he's reaching for it.

Cant wait for the morning after the fight to see where you will be hiding after Cotto stops CaneLOL.

      What the excuses will be?

Golovkin KO's Cotto and Canelo on the same night.

IF Canelo actually takes the fight- wow, man. Props to that young gun. That boy WANTS greatness.

We all know Cotto will not take the fight so lets all pray that Canelo wins.

You mean you will be crying in your pillow as there will be no decent Puerto Rican fighters left once Canelo smashes him to bit worse than pappy Margarito did.

What is it that people here have such a difficulty understanding? GGG IS THE MANDATORY DEFENSE AND THERE CAN BE NO CONDITIONS SUCH AS CATCHWEIGHTS IN A MANDATORY DEFENSE.

Refusing to fight a mandatory due to the challenger refusing a catchweight is the same as refusing to fight and will result in the champion being stripped of his title. THERE WILL BE NO CATCHWEIGHT in either a Cotto or Canelo vs Golovkin fight. A catchweight clause cannot be used to negotiate the purse split or any other aspect of the fight.

                Yes there can

but you're right that if the WBC doesn't recognize catchweights (which I believe they said they won't in this instance) they will strip Cotto if he doesn't fight Golovkin regardless of catchweight

But the thing is, that Golovkin wants the Cotto fight and they MIGHT accept the catchweight for the payday and potential buzz he gets for beating Cotto

Furthermore, Cotto has said that he doesn't want to vacate should he beat Canelo. If this is true, and Golovkins team refuses the catchweight, then Cotto will likey have to fight Golovkin at 160

Did they sign the Cotto-Canelo fight? No, they didn't...
So wait until they sign it... or more: wait until you see them entering the same ring.
