We don't know what Lara's team did re: contacting GGG's team. Didn't you used to say the fight was impossible? Something compelled Loeffler to approach Sanchez about the Lara fight and he rejected it. Nothing more needs to be added.

Doesnt mean it was possible, HBO has the final word even if Sanchez was onboard. But we know they didn't approach Loeffler as they said they would after Rodriguez, and we know they'd again said they'd try, but only if Lee is unavailable. You know, we want GGG, just not next, as the t-shirt says.
