Comments Thread For: Lemieux Confident His Power, Will Beats Golovkin

WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) will have a real fight on his hands on October 17th, when he's challenged by the dangerous IBF beltholder David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs). They will battle on HBO Pay-Per-View with New York's Madison Square Garden hosting the contest.

Golovkin has faced a lot of opponents over the years, but Lemieux is the first who comes in the ring with a near identical ratio of size, knockouts and aggression.

Big credit to Lemiux for taking this fight when other more illustrious names seem scared to death.

I still think he will get smashed in 6.

Haha - it seems the bigger somebody gets, the harder it is for some to rate them objectively.

Lemiux is showing serious balls by taking this fight. He could have held his newly acquired belt hostage in Canada and fought much easier fights for a couple of years like some other fighters do.... Stevenson anybody?

Rubio was able to break his "will" rather easily...

I think he could pull the upset. He has learned a lot and has gotten a lot better since his last defeat. I know people bash on the guy for losing to Rubio, but he was boxing pup at that time

GGG should have fought Ward if he thinks people are scared of him. If he wanted Froch and Chavez at 168 why didn't he fight Ward at 168?
