Can anyone give me a background on Oscar Larios?

Is he good enough for Pac or is this going to be another tune up fight?

Larios is a volume puncher, who has been an underrated champion in the sport for a long time now.

He's defeated some serious names at the lower weights, but this is his first time fighting a World Class fighter who has proven he could handle fighters in the higher weights.

His chin is questionable....and given Pac hits like a mack truck, it only spells doom.

Larios lost his last fight to my boy Vasquez by knockout, and might still be shaky because of it.

He's meat and Pac is a lion.

Eh to say he lost by knockout is a bit misleading. He lost from a very very bad cut over his eye. I dont remember the fight that well, was already drunk at the time, but didn't he knock down vasquez in the first? or was it vasquez who knocked him down. Anyhow he lost by TKO from cut, not KO ^^

Larios beat Husein husein and he Knockdown paquiao and gave him a hard time. The thing about Larios is that he's never been a brawler he's more of a boxer Thats why SOme people give him a chance, the way I look at it, It all depends on how good larios can take paquaios punch.

only pac would take on larios to be a tune up

larios didn't do bad in his loss to vasquez - it was a nasty cut and thought if it went the distance larios would have ended up putting it on vasquez.

larios should put up a good effort against pac - you gotta give it to pac, hes been on a crazy ass tear w/ his line of opposition.

Actually, it was not Hussein Hussein, it was his brother Nedal Hussein who was the common opponent of Pac and Larios. Its true Pac had trouble with Hussein , even suffering a knockdown, but that was pre-Roach era.
And PAC tko'ed Hussein, while Larios won by overwhelming decision.

If it was any other fighter, it wouldt be a tune-up.Larios is a respectable figher.Always busy and throws gazillion of punches per round. But he lacks power and gets hit alot.Something thats tailor-made for a PAC left hand.

This fight wouldnt last the distance.Oscar would be lucky to get past 6.

Pacquiao will walk through anything Larios throws at him. Larios will HAVE to use his length and time his power punches to get any respect from Pacquiao.

I don't think he'll be able to stand up to what Pacquiao has to offer ultimately. Pacquiao by TKO in the middle rounds.

Vasquez knocked down Larios in the 1st round. After that, Larios was able to outbox Vasquez comfortably until the thumb part of Vasquez' gloves cut Larios' eye badly. TKO win for Vasquez. I think Larios would've won by easy UD if not for the cut.

The thing that concerns me about this fight is Larios' desire to win. He's been wanting to fight Pacquiao for years now and I'm sure he will come in the best possible condition he's ever had. On the other hand, Pac just KO'd Morales so overconfidence will be Pac's biggest enemy.

It's very possible that Larios can outbox Pac. Larios definitely has a significant height and reach advantage.

larios definitely has the edge if he would last 12 rounds. if he conditioned very well, and raises his defenses, he could UD pac if he stayed long. but sure win for pac in this fight is a KO.
