  • Comments Thread For: Video: Kovalev vs. Mohammedi Post Press Conference

Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev (28-0-1, 25 KOs)* and Nadjib "IronDjib" Mohammedi (38-4, 23 KOs) started off the main event slow, just feeling each other out in the first round. At the start of the second round, Kovalev engaged in an aggressive attack on Mohammedi which knocked the challenger down. In the third round the chants for Kovalev began to ring out from the Las Vegas fans and the champion knocked down Nadjib again. This time the referee stopped the fight at 2:38.

Not only can Sergey entertain as a boxer in the ring, he can also entertain post fight during his interview with the press. Obviously both his fighting prowess and his personality make for an exciting and entertaining champion (which we fight fans most certainly deserve).

This is one mean fighter. He's very mean.
There's actually a plan to go some rounds with Sergey without being KTFO early. Don't talk much prior to fight - show respect. Don't do anything silly on weight in, especially don't touch the hat or there's a risk to become a piece of sh$t. Don't make Sergey look bad in the ring (slipping or anything). Do not show your tong (ask Hopkins what happens than).
In other words - don't make him angry otherwise punishment will come fast, abundance of punishment. Sergey is different than most people. When angree (and it's not hard at all to get him personally angry at you) he becomes even more cold bloodied. He visibly enjoys inflicting damage on people in the ring.
