Comments Thread For: Gonzalez's Promoter: I Was Really Disgusted By Scores

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Promoter Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing was very upset with the scoring of Saturday's HBO televised co-feature between his fighter Yunieski Gonzalez and former WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal.

The action was close in several of the high-drama rounds, but the majority of those at ringside had scored the fight for Gonzalez, with HBO unofficially scoring the fight in favor of the Cuban boxer as well.

Well..., he's most likely going to fight Kovalev next, so small consolation prize. But it's funny how sow many people saw it coming, even beforehand. Even his trainer knew it was going to happen by round 4

I thought Gonzales won too, but the fight was really close. Maybe a rematch?

Not till next year. They won't do it before they do Kov/Pascal 2

I'm not really interested in Pascal fighting Kov again. i honestly think Kov will KO him in the first 3 rounds.

Meh, nobody really is... they'll play a controversial stoppage or Pascal knocked Kovalev down and it wasn't counted.... they'll find a way to sell it.

Pascal last night certainly didn't really help their efforts... but they'll do it

Seems like a good resolution in my opinion.

Did it seem like HBO was already making excuses for the judges before the decision was announced?
