As long as he doesn't do anything ******, kovalev would destroy beterbiev. He's way too rigid and robotic to offer any real problems, other than a deadly punch. They should push for this now before he develops more.

I think Beterbiev is willing to take chances & he's probably gonna make Kovalev fight more risky too. Kov looks there to be hit. I don't think he's super elusive or anything & I think if Beterbiev can hit you he can win. It'll be interesting w/e happens I feel super confident in that, but I'm on record as picking Beterbiev if it happens now or a year from now.

And 100% right its better to fight Beterbiev now than when he's gotten a few more fights.

I would just be worried that if Kovalev loses to Beterbiev, we can kiss the Stevenson fight goodbye. That's just ammo for Stevenson to avoid the fight. Rather fight Stevenson first because win or lose that fight, Beterbiev will still be there willing and able.

I think the Kovalev vs Stevenson fight isn't happening with this HBO resigning. If Duva woulda used the gap in HBO contracts to make the fight I think Kov KO's Stevenson, more than likely, & she probably could've gotten Kov a better deal with HBO afterwards or **** if she wasn't so scared of Haymon might have even gotten Kov better money fighting on NBC primetime vs Beterbiev or the other dozen or so PBC guys in his weight division. That boat has sailed & I think the guy who said Kovalev vs Stevenson 2020 might be about right.

Kovalev would have to fight it like how he did against hopkins. Take very few chances and use distance. Do not try that straight right to the body because beterbiev will blow his head off with a left hook. He'd get crucified on here for fighting a safe fight but getting into exchanges with beterbiev would be foolish.

its to bad main events and kovalev are playing the people like fools stevenson kovalev would of been one hell of a build up and fight. No he wont be allowed to fight him duva and hbo wont let him u know over time its starting to seem like these exclusive deals with hbo are the biggest thing keeping these fights from happening

I feel like this is some attempt by Duva to outplay Haymon & not about getting Kovalev a competitive fight. I feel like she's gonna get outplayed again somehow.

If Beterbiev doesn't gotta sign with HBO or Duva for any length of time I don't see a problem with making this fight. I think Beterbiev could beat Stevenson or Kovalev & worse case I think he probably gives either guy their toughest fight even if he comes up short.

I will say its smart to challenge Beterbiev now then when he's had a few more fights & gotten more experience so not a bad idea at the end of the day by Duva, but I really feel like somehow this is gonna end bad for her again & she's gonna have more Haymon night terrors in her future.

I'm not sure that experience will help Beterbiev - he has fundamental flaws in how he punches - all hooks, no straights. He is confident and believes in his chin. But sometimes it is not enough when you're in with a big puncher. Pulev was confident in his chin and tried to walk down a big puncher in Wlad. It did not turn out too well for him.

I think if Beterbiev beats Kovalev it won't be about a guy with 9 fights exposing Kovalev it'll be more about how talented Beterbiev is. I think Rigo, Loma & a few other guys who've done some solid to great things early in their pro career after long amateur careers have put fans on notice that some guys with few fights can be capable of some exceptional ****.

Hopefully this fight can be made. I think this would be one of the most fun fights in the sport.

Didn't Beterbiev beat Kovalev in the amateurs?

If so, then I'd get Sergei to fight Artur sooner rather than later so that the experience factor would play a role. Otherwise Beterbiev may beat him again...

...but if this fight doesn't happen, then Kovalev-Pascal again which is shullbit. Both sides of Kovalev and Stevenson are to blame for that fight not happening and the back and forth needs to end.

Beterbiev is not ready for Kovalev or Stevenson. Both beat him handily.
