Call me biased because I'm Cuban and I was pulling for my countryman, but I think that kovalev might have ruined pascal. All I saw was a fighter who was afraid of taking big shots, and his only answer was to literally bend over, have his head below the belt and clinch. The only times that he had any success in the fight was when he'd put his head down and slug it out,in which both landed an equal amount. The rest of the fight was pascal backpedaling, eating jabs and right straights, and holding onto Gonzalez whenever he got close. Gonzalez won it 97-93 imo.
Who deserved to win Pascal-Gonzalez?

I couldn't wait to come on here and complain about this terrible decision. I usually don't go crying fix but I am su****ious of this fight. Even the punch count seemed fixed. I thought Gonzalez landed twice as many punches as Pascal. I thought he took the fight to Pascal and out fought him to win most or all of the rounds. Somebody important really wants Pascal to gets that rematch with Crusher. It's a waste of time because Crusher would KO Pascal much faster in a rematch. Pascal landed some hard punches on Gonzalez but most of the fight he ran and clinched. Gonzalez came to fight, not hold. Gonzalez is 10 times more entertaining to watch than Pascal. Gonzalez really won that fight and he should get the fight with Kovalev. However Kovalev would KO Gonzalez in a hurry too. Gonzalez isn't hard to hit and while he could handle Pascal's punches he wouldn't survive Crusher's bombs.Comment

Thought Gonzalez won the first half and Pascal the second half. Got a draw. Could see 6-4 for Gonzales, but not 6-4 Pascal.
I got really excited to see a potential Kovalev-Gonzalez fight after his performance in the first five rounds thinking he was about finish Pascal, but he got lost in the second half and didn't show that championship mettle to get me excited for it. Pascal's class showed in the second half, while Gonzales peaked in the middle of the fight and it went downhill from there.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 07-26-2015, 12:34 AM.Comment
