Theory on Mayweathers delay and why he will not fight in September

I believe the contract negotiations for an extension are real,
I also think for that the reason he will not fight in September. If Floyd is to sign a 3 fight extension he will want some time off.

He has been highly active (two fights a year) since signing that deal that he may need to take a break and fight next year.

I think he will give Pacquiao a rematch next Cinco de Mayo,
Pacquiao will be fit and their will no excuses.

Berto is being used as a smoke screen, combine that with Floyd posting pics of him training on social media (clearly old photos) and you'll soon realise he has no intention of fighting in September and is using Berto as bait for a new deal.

I'm probably wrong but just wanted to throw this out there.

There have been many onlookers and observers that have commented on his camp. From other fighters, trainers, writers, celebrities, etc. The training pictures aren't old. Plus he is wearing updated 48-0 gear. It's possible that he could call off the September fight, but there's no doubt that he's been working hard towards that date.

Also I think with the amount of buys the Pac fight got it wouldn't be hard at all to get sponsors and advertisers signed on.

It's harder than you think. Media buys are generally planned well in advance as well as budgets for sponsors which gives credence to the thread starter's position.

Perhaps though there is a lot of back room jockeying and deals worked out that we know nothing about.

I feel like the stream of information is tightly controlled. The stream of real information, as it almost seems like people can say anything and gets thrown out to the public like it's fact.

Its all relative. 2 fights a year for Mayweather IS active lol. If he fights again in September & wins I owe someone $50 (or $100 I forgot at this point, but I'm sure he remembers) cuz I made a bet with a cat that Mayweather wouldn't fight 6 times in 3 years on this May/Sept. schedule or that if he did he'd catch a L cuz that seemed like a insane schedule for Mayweather to keep at the time.

If this were true surely boxing scene would put it in their top headlines. If that happens then I would believe this. Until then I believe Mayweather will fight Berto in September.

Yeah, I was just in Vegas this past week, I personally saw him training. Working very hard, sweating his a** off. I'm pretty sure he is planning to fight in September.
