Why? Scott Quigg has never headlined a show. He was on the undercard to Anthony Crolla. He has a mickey mouse belt and no real fanbase.
I'm not really seeing it around the fact that Frampton has the big fanbase and Quigg has never headlined his own show.
I can't say I agree with the WBA's super, world and interim situation but Quigg's title does hold weight. They have both mixed in the same class also.
For this fight they promote each other and brings about more fans who ain't necessarily on the side of Quigg or Frampton, they just want to tune in to know who is the best out the 2.
I'd possibly advocate Frampton getting a greater share of the purse if he has to go to Manchester though.
Hmm, i don't know. There doesn't always have to be an 'A' side to a fight.
Cotto, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo are 'A' siders. Big names who have been there and done it all.
2014/15 seems to be the year(s) of boxers calling themselves the 'A' side and accusing their opponents of being PED users.

Those are the factors you consider when splitting the purse.

What you highlighted definitely has a bearing on the money split.
I just reckon what I've pointed out above dilutes these factors.

Disagree. Pretty much the only way Scott Quigg sells out the MEN is by facing Frampton or by being on some kind of stacked card.
Whereas Frampton could fight Joe Blow with no undercard in Belfast and pack out any arena. He's also getting good ratings on ITV and now brings American TV to the table as well.
60-40 Frampton is more than fair. If Quigg wins then there'll likely be a rematch and he'll be the one who calls the shots. There's no way Matchroom wouldn't try to get a bigger split if they were in Frampton's position.

I'm prepared to meet you halfway at 55/45.
It's difficult to measure so soon after the fight, but I reckon Quigg might have whipped up some decent support after beating Martinez.
I reckon they could have him main event MEN against Donaire, but they would probably have to include some quality matchups on the undercard or pack it with Manchester/North-West fighters.
But I take your point, Frampton is the main event ticket for NI and generates some amazing support considering the size of the nation.
