Former WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (30-0, 17KOs) is less than two weeks away from making his welterweight debut against veteran Paulie Malignaggi at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Premier Boxing Champions on ESPN will televise the contest.

The biggest fight in the division, and the entire sport, is a match against WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs).

Mayweather is going to fight on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The frontrunner to get the match is former champion Andre Berto.

Surprised there hasn't been any movement made at all to make Floyd vs Garcia tbh. Was actually expecting Danny to get the fight ever since he beat Lucas. Easy fight for Floyd, good fan base and they could have sold that "0". Guess they know Danny loses badly and Uncle Al felt he can stand to make more money off an "undefeated" DSG

I think Garcia just wants to build his own legacy and career instead of dedicating it to going after another boxer and that's probably why he's not pushing the fight. I'm okay with that because I don't think he has a chance against Floyd anyway.
