Gennady "Money" Golovkin - How Big Could He Sell as a Badboy or "Villain"?

Would be hard to hate a guy for millions of folks around the globe who comes to fight, not run, potshot, survive, hug like a drowning child, rip off fans...

There already seems to be TONS of hate for GGG around here. What if he followed Floyd's business plan and capitalized on that hate? From Goodboy/Prettyboy to "Money" or maybe call him Gennady Greedy Golovkin? Could he eventually sell even more than Floyd? Would more and more people watch him hoping to see him lose?

All he needs to do is go to strip clubs and make it rain, duck some more dudes, call himself the bestest ever, maybe retire for a year or two, get with justin beiber, go to jail for beating his baby momma, etc

Not sure if you follow wrestling, but I'll use it to make an analogy:

Floyd Mayweather Jr is akin to prime "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair; he talks the talk, walks the walk, brags about himself to no end, but seemingly delivered a stellar match every time he stepped into the ring, more often than not finding a way to win, compelling those who came wanting to see him lose to acknowledge him as "The Man".

Gennady Golovkin is akin to "The Nature Boy" Buddy Landel; marketed well by his promoter, showing flashes of top level talent, but never really showing up/delivering when it came time to on the big stage.

The general boxing public, near ten years into the guy's career, still haven't gotten a chance to see how good Golovkin really is. If Golovkin were to try that, he'd come off like a broken English version of Adrien Broner (fighter who believes that they're great, with limited experience actually being pushed to perform great).

with that being said, unless he steps up his competition the ggg train will lose momentum within the next 12 months.

I don't see GGG as being hated by many. I think the overwhelming majority of fans like him as a person & as a fighter. Anyone KOing guys is gonna get fan love. I think many of fans, myself included, think the GGG fanboys who populate forums & wait to angle GGG into any conversation are largely annoying & assclowns & they aren't so loved & GGG gets some residual hate off of their bs, but honestly you can say that about any particular boxers fanboys there just is maybe no fanboy base bigger than GGG's right now so they are the most annoying & assclown-ish.

As for GGG selling himself as a villain I think the angle anyone who's non-American in the US could use is some old school Iron Sheik sorta ****. Crapping on the US & its people in pre- & post-fight pressers would garner you much hate & money. Make an IG video of yourself ****ting & make it appear you wiped your ass with the American flag & flush it lol. There'd be cats waving US flags during your fight & coming out in droves to see you lose. Would get mainstream coverage by the media. Bill O'Reilly would be talking about the guy who did that.

Having said that the good guy road isn't all that bad if you can get the map for it so I think GGG is fine on the road he's on. Someone like Tyson Fury could capitalize on this sorta strategy in a huge way if he beats Wladimir & Deontay gets on his radar. Kovalev seems like more of an ******* than Main Events is allowing himself to show. If Kov just spoke his mind on more subjects instead of being the formerly broke & now grateful guy his bank account could soar.
