Against a guy he completely outgunned and whom Cotto wrecked.

You could argue Willie Monroe's last performance in Boxcino was better than Lara's ho-hum performance against Delvin.
fans always hype the **** out of his imaginary skills before he fights. lara was supposed to dominate canelo, dominate that guy, dominate this guy but you never see it happen. maybe he underperforms because he's not that good?

Every single person in and around boxing and fans worldwide know GGG crushes Cotto and the fight isn't even close. It's about the title, the last piece in the puzzle before moving up
The points is, Lara and Ward are better than anyone currently holding meaningless paper trinkets at middleweight. The point is the only time collecting meaningless paper trinkets becomes a priority for GGG is when somebody who might get in that ass comes calling for a fight. The guy is avoiding the best fights available to him. He's doing the exact same thing folks like you have been b1tch'n about Floyd doing. Only difference id he's doing it with about 5% of the resume Floyd had established when he started playing the risk/reward game.

"Running" isn't as easy ad it looks. The fights that come to my mind where guys tried to adopt a "running" strategy where that isn't there normal style are "Popo" Freitas against "Chico" Corrales and Cotto in his first fight with Margarito. And both guys wore down, and were stopped late. Both actually quit. Lara boxed beautifully against Canelo and I thought he was blatantly robbed. But it was seen as just because of this new age of fight fan that wanna see toughman competitions instead of boxing matches.

        • Wow golovkin fans really trying to defend this. GGG is cool and all, but he is ducking.

If Lara is such an easy fight, then why not fight him and put a big name on resume, isnt that what GGG wants? anyone from 154 to 168?. Then once a good fighter calls him out they back down. That is called "ducking". sorry not going to sugarcoat it.

Excessive movement is Lara's worst habit. Sure, it takes very good stamina to do that, but I wish he would allocate some of that stamina towards his offense rather than being so negative/defensive. There's always a time to retreat, but there's also a time where you have to stand your ground. I think Cuenca's performance against Yang is an example of how I would like Lara to perform. Cuenca moved, but threw a lot and almost always responded to Yang's offensive bursts.

            • Forget about Lara, Let's make the Ward fight at 166..I think that's fair.. Ward has to give up something here though..he thinks he can just get 168 in Cali and 50/50..hell no...

Should be no more than 166 in Vegas/MSG/etc...not Cali... and I couldn't care less about the money split..although Ward is lucky to get 50/50..

Lara got rocked by Canelo a few times and landed less than 10 punches a round and ran the entire night...

So a toughman competition to you is a guy landing more than single digit punches a round?

You're the cancer in boxing.. the FIomo/Rigomo type fan who thinks running and doing nothing offensively is doing something when it's not..when a guy runs and doesn't score at least a knockdown or hurt his opponent he should lose the round period...

No reward for the guy trying to avoid letting his hands go...

                Ring Generalship is not Running..

                • I really can't believe people are dying to see a guy who lands single digit punches per round fight...

Triple G should absolutely not take this fight..Nobody should fight Lara at all... he's a cancer in boxing.. he's the worst runner in boxing..he makes Floyd and Rigo look like Rocky

Lol perfect example of a non-boxing fan who just wants a guy (GGG) to lose because he can't stand people talking about him. You're a joke. I don't know what the hell "folks like you" means because I never bi**h about Floyd, so I don't see what you're trying to say.

Reading your posts are cringeworthy. You're NOT a boxing fan. Stop pretending. You have 7500 posts and I've never once saw you make a post that didn't involve a theme similar to the one in this post - "I hate this fighter. I want him to lose ASAP, so unless he fights this guy ___, he's a bum"

What's the rush? Golovkin is waiting for Canelo/Cotto to fight for the lineal title of his division and then he will move up for Ward. You just can't STAND another year of him being undefeated and being talked about, eh?

Why doesn't Ward call out Kovalev?

                      1. HitQueen (FIomo/Rigomo thought Lara was "blatantly" robbed against Canelo LOL @ you
