Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Shafikov Makes Barthelemy Quit Before Twelve

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - The IBF recently ordered Denis Shafikov (36-1-1, 20KOs) and Rances Barthelemy (23-0, 13KOs) to fight for the vacant lightweight championship that Mickey Bey vacated several weeks ago.

Shafikov challenged Miguel Vazquez for the IBF crown last February and lost pretty handedly on the scorecards over twelve. Since the sole of his career, Shafikov secured three wins in a row and is now trained by experienced coach Abel Sanchez, who is currently best known for training IBO/WBA middleweight king Gennady Golovkin.

Shafikov couldn't find Vazquez, Barthelemy would just step on the gas and leave him in the dust. Too fast, too mobile. Shafikov will never see enough of him to get a KO, could go the other way.

Based on what? Shafikov has ZERO advantages in this fight. Barthelemy is bigger, faster, more powerful, and a better boxer. This is the exact dumb shtye you posted before the last time Shafikov got white washed. Barthemy is gonna knock Shaf TFO. Nationalistic pride is a good thing, but you need to keep your feet on the ground

Barthelemy is not nearly as good or as much of a spoiler as Vazquez. Shafikov has improved since that last fight.

I'm not being nationalistic, Shafikov will KO him, watch. Just wait and see.

You are being nationalistic. Every time a fighter from the former Soviet Union has a fight you claim "easy work ". Grow up already, there are good fighters from everywhere. If you had the ability to look at this fight objectively (apparently you don't) you would come to the same conclusion I did. Barthelemy has all of the advantages and will score the KO

no, it's really not. It's one if the most fucked up things in the world actually. It did way more harm than help in human history. It's senseless and it's just very rarely clearly positive. I mean in almost every case it goes together with chauvinism.

To the topic. Shafikov is no Kovalev or Beterbiev, he already showed on the Vazquez fight that he is ver limited. I think Barthelemy is better than Vazquez so this will be an even wider shut out.

So, if Shafikov wins are you going to come up with a list of excuses because "Barthelemy is the better fighter" and he was supposed to win?

Barthelemy isn't that impressive, IMO. He hasn't fought someone who will take the fight to him like Shafikov will. Shafikov doesn't have superb power but he has good footwork and decent speed, he's going to rough him up and make it a dog fight, I don't think Barthelemy will respond well. His chin will get broken. Watch. Also Shafikov is much improved since the Vazquez fight and has a new camp, AND I don't think Barthelemy is as good as Vazquez.

IDK why you keep saying this "there are good fighters everywhere" thing. I have favorite fighters from all over the work. I think you're thinking of the wrong poster? I do not have a geographic bias with boxers. It's just a coincidence that when you see me post it's claiming certain fighters you don't like are going to win, evidently.
