Comments Thread For: Erik Morales: Mayweather-Berto is Not Competitive

Former four division world champion Erik Morales questions the logic of a fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Andre Berto.

According to recent reports, Mayweather is slated to defend his WBC/WBA welterweight belt against Berto on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Berto was beaten by Victor Ortiz, who Mayweather later knocked out in four rounds. And Ortiz was stopped by Marcos Maidana, who Mayweather defeated twice in 2014.

In his most recent fight, Berto stopped Josesito Lopez.

Its obvious that its an easy fight to end his career and retire , at this point at nearly 40 after 20 years in the game and beating the most world champions in history Floyd can fight whoever he wants to close the door he dont owe boxing anything .

Guy doesn't take risks yet he has the best resume in the last 20 years and he's undefeated and he just beat a guy u picked to bear him. Wtf is wrong with this logic? Morales seriously hates Floyd for some reason. Sure he was right about this fight being uncompetitive. Ppl will watch tho. So saying no1 wants to see it is hog wash.

Blatantly ducking Amir Khan twice is pretty pathetic.

Except he doesn't have the best resume lol.

Kinda kills your entire post when it's based on a lie.

Actually almost no one agree he does aside from a few crack pot posters and Journalist with a male crush on Floyd.

Pretty much everyone say he has the skills that don't match his underwhelming resume.

                  LMAO.
