Comments Thread For: Team Mosley: Test Failure is Innocent Mistake, Adderall

It was recently reported by BoxingScene.com and other media outlets that Shane Mosley Jr. tested positive for amphetamines in his post-fight drug test after his crushing 51 second knockout of Jason Kelly on the June 27th BKB event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Speculation on many social networks ran rapid afterwards on what type of "amphetamines" Mosley tested postive for.

Exceptions should NOT be allowed Period. Adderall is indeed a Performance enhancing drug and making exceptions would open a Pandoras box..I can see fighters taking Testosterone replacement and claiming girly nuts, like Chael Sonnen..

This does make the test failure much less concerning to me. But, I say that as someone with ADHD who takes Adderall, so make of that what you will.

I will admit that getting a prescription for Adderall can be shockingly easy depending on which doc you approach for it. So I won't pretend as though he can't be taking it for dishonest reasons. Most likely though, if he were using it to cheat, he is doing it to suppress his appetite and make weight. It's not like meth where it makes you feel invincible. That would still be cheating and dishonest of course, but thought I'd throw it out there because not all drugs are the same.

Lamont pederson was on testosterone pellets and claimed he had a low level of it, this is the same ***** that the american athlete that was expose recently (Gupp?) was on, we all know what that does for you.

I'm aware of the whole Peterson thing. That is why I believe you can't make exceptions..they do provide an advantage..

The excuse about forgetting is just old, until they start banning cheaters like this one for 2 years for "forgetting" then most of these cheaters would still be forgetting to list their drugs in 2025.
