Loeffler should not have mentioned a catchweight for Ward, or for anyone else.

Not after playing the " anyone from 154-168 doe " fiddle, for the last 3 years.

You have to be consistant with your bullshht
Everyone at middleweight with belts are clearly avoiding him.

I think what happening right now is that Golovkin has gained popularity and wants to use it to his advantage against Ward. Last year or two, I think Golovkin would have gave in to Ward's demands if the fight were to happen. Golovkin as reported recently agreed to the fight 3 times and the bout did not happen.

Although, for the record, I do not support the idea of catchweights and Golovkin, like Cotto, wants to use his advantages.

So yes Golovkin isn't ducking anyone, so it seems, at least for now.

What ever happened to "Anyone from 154-168"?

Where GGG wouldnt get the credit.

i hate the everything-should-be-in-favor-of the-guy-they-support logic, especially when it comes to making a fight between guys IN SEPARATE WEIGHT DIVISIONS. Supporters of either guy make valid cases..GGG should go up/Ward should come down..but theres gotta be compromise or NO FIGHT, blame the other side right?
So Froch & Chavez Jr at 168, but Ward at 164.

        • I've never see the fan base so scared of another fighter. Except of course the Manny fans who were scared of Floyd. Who are also bandwagon jumpers from the pactrain to the GGG bus.lol

I wouldn't count on that just yet. Not until Ward beats Golovkin or... vice versa.

Incidentally I am a fan of both. I think they are both sort of avoiding each other .

In fact, I'd argue, that in the old days things were WORSE than they were today!

              For example:
              Kid Lavigne vs. Joe Walcott

              Queens, NY. December 2nd, 1885

Joe Walcott was a welterweight champion who received a challenge from the promoter of Kid Lavigne, the lightweight champion. Now remember, this was the 1800's and everything from stipulations were negotiated and nothing was out of the question as long as both sides agreed.

Basically the deal was that Joe Walcott had to knock the smaller Lavigne out within 15 rounds or he would lose the fight. The condition for Walcott was that he couldn't come in any heavier than 133 pounds making it one of boxing's first catchweight fights. Both fighters came in at 131 and 1/2 pounds for the bout. Walcott had his way with the smaller Lavigne for most of the fight but did show signs of fatigue according to ring side observers.

Since Walcott had to win by knockout he began to get desperate despite putting a beating on the smaller Lavigne. Leaving him self open he was dropped in the 13th and proceeded to take a beating in the 14th in which he had to hold on to the ropes to keep him self up, according to those who reported the fight.
              So CW's or no?

Asked and answered dozens if not hundreds of times and you are bright enough to know that. You are getting to the point where I will put you on my ignore list because of this ignorant shit and that would be a shame as I enjoy most of your posts and you are a knowledgeable fan. But harping on the same three year old quote is pure bullshit and you well know it. It is beneath you.
