Vlad showed his true colours here. He loves to take the moral high ground and complain how these young upstarts don't respect the sport, but Tyson was being very civil and curtious until vlad goaded him into saying something controversial long after furys allotted time to talk had finished.Comment

To be fair it's great to see a guy with the confidence to actually think he can beat Wlad unlike most opponent. Unfortunately enthusiasm is no substitute for skill. I think Fury will do better than most think but he wont be able in the end to handle Wlads power. Build up will be a giggle thoughComment

If you listen carefully, Wlad keeps repeating to Fury "keep saying personal things about me" or something to that degree, and I really feel Fury's trash talk is going to favour Wlad. Not only will Fury build up the fight and essentially make more money for the pair of them, he will use up energy with his talk (although he is a natural and it is more free flowing seemingly than Haye) and at the end result just get Wlad angry.
We have seen how he fights when he is angry - against Pulev, he went for the KO early...against Wach he looked pissed in the pre fight period for some reason, was aggressive there, schooled Haye... on the flipside, respectful guys like Jennings probably didn't light any sort of fire in his belly, hence the tame performance.
Wlad probably will do better if he has more of these guys who can talk well and rile him up to keep him fully sharp, motivated and focused in these last career fights.Comment

I want to be on record already with Wladimir KO4.
Dramatic KO at that!
I think the fight will be a good one and cred to Tyson, but he will also be serving up one of Wlaidmir's highlight reel KO's, perhaps his most vicious and comical one.
Wladimir has a strong chin in this division to the point where only the hardest of punchers copping him clean can really hurt him, and the defence is just so good anyway.
Fury I don't think has a glass jaw exactly, but it isn't the same quality as Wladimir's, that's obvious too.
You can see that by looking at the jawline really.
I think that if Wlaidmir chose to, he could continue reigning through his 40's BETTER than he would be coming in so fine, if he purposely came in chubbier, like most boxers post 40 end up doing. He might lose some swiftness but he would rely on expereince more than athleticism then anyway, exhaust his opponents with the extra weight even quicker and then truly have an "iron chin" like his less ripped brother.
I'd bet on it!
But I think Wlad will retire.
After he thrashes Fury, there's very little more to do really, except wasting Wilder of course which he doesn't even really need to train for.Comment

Wlad didn't go for an early KO against Pulev, the guy just happened to stand straight in front of him with no defence whatsoever. Same with Wach, these guys are so limited. He was apparently angry with Haye and vowed to give him a pizza face, yet didn't really do much in the fight, and certainly didn't go for the KO. Haye hardly had a mark on him. Jennings used movement and a high guard to frustrate Wlad, which worked, it wasn't because Wlad lacked fire in his belly. He's a professional and no doubt prepares exactly the same for each fight.
With Haye, the guy ran a lot of the time and obviously it is harder to go looking for a KO against someone just looking to survive, especially a guy with explosiveness and good movement like Haye. If I recall anyway, Wlad said he would dominate him for 12 rounds and then knock him out. As it turned out, only the last part did not happen and it makes sense to not leave himself open and put himself at risk of losing it all and getting KO'd. Because Haye angered him it still led to a more concentrated performance with little to no mistakes.
With Jennings, I disagree completely - I was hugely disappointed by Wlad for most of the fight and made a lot of comments after the fight that he had lost a step. He was hardly throwing any power shots - straight rights in particular - and looked lethargic and lacking that killer instinct or desire to KO Jennings. Personally, I put that down to motivation and lack of animosity. But that's just my opinion.
We will see come fight night, but I predict an aggressive Wlad. We all win as fans if that happens to be the case.Last edited by PainfromUkraine; 07-22-2015, 05:11 AM.Comment
