Comments Thread For: Donaire Very Willing To Face Scott Quigg on UK Soil

Nonito Donaire would be happy to travel to Manchester to take on WBA super-bantamweight world champion Scott Quigg.

Donaire (35-3-KO23) lost his own super-bantamweight world title to Guillermo Rigondeaux in April 2013 but after losing a WBA Super title to Nicholas Walters up at featherweight, he has dropped back down and recorded a second second-round knockout in a row at the weekend – against Anthony Settoul.

After Quigg demolished former IBF king Kiko Martinez at the Manchester Arena and current IBF champion Carl Frampton recovered from two first-round knockdowns to beat Alejandro Gonzalez Jr, the chances of a unification fight still look slim, with Donaire seemingly likely to be handed the Quigg fight. Donaire always willing to face the top guys in the division. The Nonito haters will still not give him credit for it

for a while he avoided the rigo match as long as he could, but he did take it and thats all that counts..every excuse he made rigo was like nope have it your way lets just fight lol..but as far as walter he got in there no complaints..he needs a big win and he needs it now..another ko loss and it might be time to deal with daddy issues rather than boxing gloves unless he does it at a low to mid level

He didn't avoid Rigo at all. He signed to fight Rigo like a year after he hit 122. Maybe not even that long. HBO didn't even start hyping that fight until their previous fights a few months earlier.
