If you are Arreola...do you retire?

He has looked like sh#t....and even he knows it...and every time he says the same thing...."no excuses" "it's my fault" etc etc....now he had a shot at the WBC belt....a very REALISTIC shot at being a champ (Wilder's chin has yet to be tested imo) and he comes up with this?

I think he has reached his full potential....and he is now on the down side....but I guess he needs to keep collecting those checks....I suppose I would do the same if I needed the money....but for the sports sake and for his own health I say he should retire....

I would get a sponsorship from Weight watchers and take my career seriously.

Nah, I ride the PBC wave until I'm forced to retire and cash grab as much as I can.

Arreola has almost assuredly reached his peak in the sport. He does have some 6 digit paydays in his future that will probably keep him in the sport for years. I can't say he should retire for the betterment of the sport though. If anyone needs to retire or stay retired its these RJJ, Mosley & just random non-top 20 forty year old guys. Those are the guys who make the sport look bad & its just kinda embarrassing to think of as "pro boxers". Bhop is boring to watch (imo) & 59 or w/e at this point, but he's still able to compete so I give him an old boxer pass & there are others, but these guys who are old, shadows of what they were & not able to compete with the elite guys anymore gotta go.

lol but true. Someone could probably get a Latino Celebrity Fit Club type show on some Latin channel these days. Arreola might have a career resurgence.

He should just go into MMA. He just needs to learn to sprawl to avoid shoots. I'm sure he can gain a following by knocking guys out like Kimbo did.

Exactly. Don't spill the gravy train. Keep riding it as long as possible.
