Comments Thread For: Browne: Wilder-Arreola Bad For Heavyweight Boxing

Unbeaten heavyweight contender Lucas Browne believes a fight between Deontay Wilder and Chris Arreola would be bad for heavyweight boxing.

Browne is set to face Argentina's Gonzalo Basile in Melbourne next month and will turn his attention to his mandatory shot at WBA champion Ruslan Chagaev afterwards.

But he's hopeful of getting Wilder in the ring before the end of the year and feels it will be a barnburner with potentially two belts on the line. [Click Here To Read More]

Wilder-Arreola still ranks higher than Wilder-Browne. Arreola has been in three championship fights, he is a tough test for Wilder.

He speaks the truth. Wilder has fought mainly nothing but tomato cans. I thought after he finally won a belt that would change. But his 2 fights since proves it hasn't. The guy is what 31? He should be fighting top heavyweights. Molina fight was a joke and Arreloa even in his prime which was like 5 years ago wasn't all that. And now that he no longer takes boxing serious and is struggling against bums he damn sure should be a an opponent for Wilder. Hell in a moment of honesty he admitted he should get the fight after his performance. Sadly Haymon will likely still shove this terrible fight downs our throats.

        Wilder is 29 FWIW.

And Lucas Browne? Is this guy kidding me? Who was your best win Lucas? A morbidly obese James Toney?

OK so he turns 30 in a month or 2. Point is he is not some young kid. He's got over 30 professional fights and will be 30 years old. And now he has a belt so why is he still fighting bums like he is a 20 year old prospect?

Lucas Browne criticises Arreola as someone who "doesn't even look like he takes training seriously." Browne must cut himself shaving every day because he has obviously never been near a mirror or the sight of his own flabby baboon shape would leave him too embarrassed to make comments like that about anybody else.

Browne is a hungry undefeated and charismatic contender. He's a new face on the HW scene. Arreola has had his chances, many times, but has not capitalized on them. I would rather see someone else get a chance

Lucas has weighed as much as 275 pounds for a fight. With that said, is he possibly just the Down Under version of Chris "The Fat Mexican" Arreola??

I have only seen Browne vs. Toney and he looked muscular, not fat.
