IBF Super bantamweight titlist Carl Frampton’s seesaw battle with Alejandro Gonzalez in El Paso, Texas on Saturday night was a hit with fans on site and also drew in a lot of TV viewers in his native Northern Ireland.

The Belfast boxer (21-0, 14 early) was floored twice in the first round before coming back to secure a decision win, and the showdown was a ratings winner for UTV (formerly Ulster Television). [Click Here To Read More]

69% of the TV viewers watched at peak, now that's having a country behind you. Imagine he was fighting a big name.

It'll be interesting to hear what the UK-wide figures were.

According to this http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/rating...090684.article it did 1.7 million and peaked at 2.4 million, up from 1.1 million from the Avalos fight.

Might of done well overseas but the TV ratings bombed in the US.

          Tweeted by Dan Rafael yesterday

"Ratings for PBC on CBS on Saturday were poor based on this report: http://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2015...lf-nbc/#pbccbs #boxing"
