No announcement yet.
Can anyone prove that the uncanny hate Al Haymon receives is due to racism?

While there are valid criticisms of the murkiness of Haymon's role is as well as the PBC model, the problem is most of the people arguing it are just butthurt fanboys. This causes the legitimate concerns people raise regarding their aggressive business model to get drowned out by a cacophony of ******.
There could actually be good discussion fostered if the basic equation of any PBC debate on here weren't simply:
Manny = Arum = Wild Card = Cleto Reyes gloves = all have to be exalted as the best because muh brave Manny. With Floyd being the opposite side of that coin.

This whole issue is the height of narcissism. The guy is a snake like all promoters. Since when is a promoter anything but a villain and a necessary evil?
He is making great efforts to make boxing more visible on free tv, but he is also engaging in some shady power plays while trying to establish a monopoly. He is implicated in underhanded competitive ploys against fighters not in his stable. He has also taken fights between his stable and HBO/Golden Boy fighters off the table for the time being.
For those that like what he is doing now, he is operating at a loss to gain market share. How do you think he will be once his share of the market has stabilized and he focuses on bleeding it dry? It may seem like it now, but boxing is not a charity for Haymon.
