Ward making $2 mil off a $3 mil revenue show doesn't mean he's worth more than Golovkin making $1 mil off a show that generates like $5 million. I'm just making up the numbers but you get the idea. GGG sells more tickets at higher prices and attracts more viewers. So why wouldn't he get more than 50% of the money generated from that?

This is going to be a PPV fight, and when it comes to that, the most important thing is getting someone who is willing to pay for PPV.

You don't have to be a PPV star to dictate terms. Though I don't care if the fight is at 168. It's more about the money.
If GGG generated so much money, he'd be a PPV star. He's not. He doesn't sell that many tickets - his first show at the proper MSG completely bombed so they had to move back to lesser venues. His ratings on HBO are not that much greater than Ward's last fight on HBO.

It was an example. One that made sense.

Are you brain dead? Why would Ward take 35% in a fight with a guy who makes less money then he does? How in the hell does than even begin to make any sense?
Because the split is going based on PPV buys and tickets sold

His taking 35% doesn't mean he's going to go home with less than what he's received before. It means he's taking less money from variables that he doesn't control as much as Golovkin.

If the pool of money is based on PPV buys and ticket sold, why should Ward get more of that when he doesn't attract more viewers than GGG?

If Bum-love-kin is entitled to more than 50% then please tell me why does he make LESS money than Ward?
I just told you, promoters. You don't seem to get that concept. Ward making like $2 mil off a show that generates $3 mil in revenue doesn't mean he's worth more valuable than GGG who got paid $1 million but generates $5 million in revenue (numbers made up but you get the point and should reflect the actual events happening considering the viewers, tickets sold, etc). All that shows is GGG is underpaid and Ward is overapid.

He already is. GGG is lined up for the Cotto vs Canelo winner, a fight with Andy Lee, and David Lemieux.

And this is the reason why Ward is the "A" side. His side brings more money which is why Ward cashes the bigger paychecks.

The split is going to be based on PPV buys and tickets sold. Well who sells more tickets and gets more viewers to tune in? It's a pretty simple formula.
How many PPVs has Golovkin sold?

Let us know when ANY of those fights get a signed contract. Until then, they DON'T exist...

Well he should be a PPV star but he needs the right partner of course. But that's not the point I was saying.

All I said was that based on the past few years, GGG has attracted more viewers and sold more tickets, so clearly he should get a larger % of the pot, whether it's 55% or 60% or whatever.

I don't care how much Ward attracted 2 years ago. That was 2 years ago. Maybe he generated viewers 2 years ago but he's done nothing to show he can generate viewers not. Is he a great fighter? Of course. Doesn't mean he can generate money to the same degree as Golovkin.

Funny, he didn't feel the same way in the buildup to Smith, he couldn't stop with ducking accusations and then got a reaction from team GGG. Also funny he ended up his self imposed vow of silence in regards to GGG without denying he said no to HBO when they came calling.
I thought Golovkin was talking about something recent, but all he's referring to is this when Ward out due to injury post-Dawson. This was probably when Golovkin was coming off fighting Nobuhiro Ishida.

Anyway, you can ask HBO, two years ago they showed us a list of possibles, and Ward was on it; we said yes to all of them.

No, idiot, he brings less in revenue. If his promoter is bankrolling this fight, then fine, they can pay him 20m if they want, but doesn't seem like they are. Ward is mentioning HBO, and to HBO Ward brings less than GGG. Duh
