Comments Thread For: Hearn To Speak With Amir Khan on Brook For November

Promoter Eddie Hearn plans to hold talks with Amir Khan this week about a possible fight with Kell Brook in November.

Khan and Brook both attended last weekend’s big Manchester bill, topped by Scott Quigg and Anthony Crolla’s world title fights, but the British rivals did not come face-to-face.

In recent months, Khan has distanced himself from a showdown with IBF champion Brook, opting instead to pursue a lucrative fight with Floyd Mayweather.

          Before anyone gets excited:

This is just a Hearn tactic, he knows khan wont fight brook, Rios fell through.

Its a way to sell another brook vs 'dud' fight. "Rios left the negotiations table, khan left the negotiations table so we have to keep busy with Ashley Theopane/Mundine/Katsidis. We tried to get the fights the fans wanted".

Good news, at least it's an attempt to get the ball rolling and start and open up a dialogue.

He clearly doesn't want the fight. Go ahead and put kell vs his monthly deliver man on ppv already

I wish they would just shut their mouths and if Khan wants it he will duly come when he sees fit.

Whilst we could have Hearn pursuing realistic fights against Thurman and Bradley we've got this running bs theme.

Brook hasn't done enough to earn a fight with Khan. He's literally got one name fighter on his record - Porter - whereas Khan has something like 8 or 9 name fighters:- Judah, Malignaggi, Maidana, Alexander, Kotelnik, Collazo, Algieri, Barrera... etc..

It's two different worlds really, Brook needs to actually put himself in some tough fights like Khan has for years and years before trying to get the Khan payday.

That's the difference with Khan and Brook - no one can deny that Khan has fought far better opposition throughout his career, tough opponent after tough opponent, while Brook has taken the path of least resistance.

Even at 147 - Khan has only had 4 fights at the weight, while Brook has spent his entire pro career there but overall Khan's fought better opposition at 147 in 4 fights than Brook has in like 35 fights or something.

Sounds crazy but it's 100% true and it's all on record. So there we have it.

If Brook fights 2 or 3 name fighters over the next 8 months or so then I'd be interested in the Khan fight end of 2016. Right now however, Brook isn't a worthy opponent, the IBF belt is worth less than toilet paper to Khan.
