Typically when a huge underdog fights the favorite on even terms, the underdog gets the benefit of the doubt because most didn't expect the underdog to be in the fight.

It was an even fight after 8. I have no problem with Szpilka 5-3. With that said, Szpilka left on a stretcher. That's all you really need to know about this fight.

Comparing Szpilka and Povetkin is fruitless. Completely different styles. Povetkin doesn't have an awkward, herky jerky, side-to-side, back and forth style. Povetkin fights straight up and down.

    • Szpilka can fight. He was winning big until the end. Good luck to him.

Couple fights within the crowd and a minor scuffle on the ring floor...the Polish fans chanting in between the first and second round...Seeing Tyson and Lewis in the ring...

              It was great being there

                • I picked Szpilka and properly called the Showtime guys douches (Mauro especially), but cong**** to Wilder.

He was outboxed and should have been down on the cards, but he scored a good KO, and cong**** to him.

He won't be beating Fury. He may beat Povetkin, but I don't think so.

A good win though. Sounds fickle, but I mean it. He did well to score that KO.

                  • Wilder was outboxed by a fringe contender, a guy who just about sneaks into a top 20 heavyweight list. Fury will utterly destroy chicken man wilder.

                    • Mark Breland needs to come up with the perfect training camp + game plan for Deontay Wilder. One that includes a hell of a lot of piston-like Holmes jabs.

I'm one of the biggest Wilder fans on this site, but honestly, he has to box better than he's ever boxed before in order to beat Povetkin.
