Garcia is a good trainer, but there is just some people that can't be saved from them selves. Didn't Palvik work with Garcia at the end of his career?
Can't compare Maidana to Chavez, Maidana would never quit on his stool for one thing.
Chavez was never really that good, he was okay, but he won't be able to beat anyone his own size that is any good. He can't make weight at 168, so what is he going to do fight at 175?
Kov, Stevenson and Beterbiev would end Chavez career, Chavez couldn't KO a fighter would was 2 weight classes lower.

The man can punch and has a chin. He needs to work on his footwork, stamina, and defense. Y'all being way too hard on this guy. He actually does have potential.

So the Cruiserweight found a light heavyweight too big for him and then fought a middleweight Saturday. Bet they are scouting the junior middleweights now since Cruiserweight Chavez couldn't KO a middleweight. If that doesn't work, anyone know of a mediocre welterwieght? If so, Chavez is interested so make sure to inquire within.

literally did not see any difference in chavez style last night, compared to how he fought fonfara. The only difference is that when he fought fonfara,he didnt have the height, reach,or wieght advantage,so he had to really on his skills...which are nonexistant. Last night all that was shown is how effective a 20-30 lb weight advantage is against a smaller C class fighter, and how chavez is still a one dimentional plodding cow,who gases out after one combination, and is verry skilled in the art of blocking punches with his face.
Not sure if the weight difference is that dramatic but you're right, Chavez does utilize his size and influence to his advantage. That being said, having a weight advantage alone does not enable a person to compete at a world class level.

You must not have been around to see chavez sr fight... He took on all comers and yes had a bunch of bums, but the dude was fighting 8-10 times a year

To think senior fought 80 cans then stepped up vs pernell and Oscar is just absurd and not accurate..

By 29 senior had already beat down Mayweather twice, Ramirez, Rosario, Lockridge, Laporte, etc.... And was a legit 3 division champ

So Garcia is saying he needs 3-4 fights against worthless opponents. These fights will all be on showtime in either Mexico, Texas or Stub Hub(Cali)-Chavez will be protected in all 3-4 of these fights..SMH Fooled me once Garcia yes I watched, won't get me twice.....Free tv or not won't watch this disgrace..
