    Don Haskins Convention Center, El Paso, Texas - In a battle of undefeated contenders, McJoe Arroyo (17-0, 8KOs) won a ten round unanimous technical decision over Arthur Villanueva (27-1, 14KOs) to capture the vacant IBF super flyweight championship. The scores were 97-92, 98-91 and 98-91.

    Arroyo started well, but soon he allowed Villanueva to come into his own with a high workrate. The action was had twists and turns with each fighter

                    Yea that was some garbage reffing and scoring from the judges. I felt the ref was too bias, I heard from the commentators he was Puerto Rican too. Point shouldn't have been deducted, and Arroyo also should have been warned and the ref shouldn't have allowed the doc to stop the fight (yet). I was surprised Mexicans were rooting for the Filipino though due to their strong hatred of Puerto Ricans.
