Comments Thread For: Sauerland Has a Game Plan, Will Stand By David Price

As previously reported, David Price suffered a stunning knockout defeat against German heavyweight Erkan Teper in Ludwigsburg.

The Liverpool heavyweight was hoping to get his career back on track in only his second bout in 13 months, but his bid for the vacant European title was ended in violent fashion inside two rounds.

Teper was already having plenty of joy against Price when he connected with a massive left hook and sent the 32-year-old to the canvas.

Why? He has almost no value now.

Unless they feed him to AJ, there's nothing left for Price.

The guy cannot take a punch. He had ALL the attributes to beat Teper, and still blew it.

    Pathetic

32...damn, I kept think he was like 28 or 29. Hard to come back from something like this at that age, especially if the guy knocking you out has the same consistency as a cadbury's cream egg.

All round pathetic performance from Price.

I suspected he'd fall tonight, but I didn't expect such a limp showing. He had everything in his favour and still found a way to lose.

        He's done.

Price is a 1 trick pony. Straight right hand and nothing else.

Sauerland should just dig lower when it comes to opponents for Price, guys who arent ranked AT ALL. Just let him face those kinda guys from here on out and sell em as "World Champions"...Sauerland can sell some **** events so obviously they can make even this work.

I think it was actually Price who wanted this fight. If he is to fight on they will need extra sized kid gloves.

Price looked like he didn't want to fight. Came out cagey, hesitant, nervous. Tried to establish a weak jab, didn't use his height and reach at all. If this Teper guy can do this to him... what is left? Probably the worst performance by Price to date.

ah well, he's still got his faculties, and he could look like a walrus like teper.

Here's a quote from Sauerland in the article

"It is entirely up to him to choose if he carries on after this. If he does, then I have the beginnings of a plan to bring him back, the type of fights which with the right game plan can help him use his offensive power without getting so exposed defensively," Price's promoter Kalle Sauerland said.

Sauerland speaks as doe Teber was some offensive wizard - the guy literally just walked in, without any resistance from Price, and let his hands go. If Price can deal with an opponent walking towards him then, I'm sorry, boxing is not the sport for you.
