A guy that has a cherry picked resume fighting C level fighters, no defense so he doesn't fight elite fighters lol.

When you say Ward's current standing in the sport, do you mean best SMW?
And the Mayweather comment was made 2 months ago, is that considered ages ago?

I believe people are using their brains now and are not falling for the GGG-hype train. He wants to fight smaller fighters and take the path of least resistance, kind of like JCC Jr. did for years.

Best SMW? Really? When was his last fight at SMW against a real SMW who was not drained from a catchweight? That would be WAY BACK in the Super Six tournament. Ancient history in boxing terms. The guy can't even get a fight on HBO or Showtime he is so irrelevant to the sport today.

Why would they take a Hopkins fight? He's a light heavyweight. He's 50 years old. He's coming off the worst loss of his career. I'd lose respect for Golovkin if he took this fight.

Taking a Hopkins fight would mean they are only fighting for money. It would show no dignity or class taking a fight like that right now.

All team Golovkin is doing here is respectfully declining the idea of the fight. Loeffler is saying they're focused on 160 pounds, Hopkins is a great fighter but it doesn't make any sense, and honestly it doesn't. It makes literally no sense to fight Hopkins right now.

Because Golovkin has no other real viable fights to consider, or that he seems willing to take (Cotto-Canelo is happening in November, Lemieux is likely making a voluntary defense come October, Andy Lee has his Ireland fight before heading back to PBC, and Team Golovkin doesn't want it with Ward/Lara)

Golovkin is supposed to fight twice more this year; who do you put him in with?

Hopkins is more credible than ANY of the TOMATO CANs on Bum-love-kin's resume. If the Triple Duck fights another TOMATO CAN in his next fight instead of Ward or Hopkins then he'll lose ALL credibility.

Not if 50 year old Hopkins has to go down to 168 pounds. Obviously no one would expect Golovkin to move up to light heavyweight to fight Hopkins. So given that you'd actually want to see a 50 year old drained Hopkins? **** that man, have some respect for Hopkins. He's a legend.

Cherry picked? You realize Sergio Martinez, Cotto, Canelo, Froch, Chavez, Lemieux, Ndam, Sturm, Quillin and others have turned him down right?

I guess people on NSB don't realize 50 year old Hopkins is at light heavyweight. In what reality do we ask fighters to fight guys two weight classes above them? NSB logic is so ******ed. Golovkin isn't "ducking" Hopkins they are respectfully declining the idea of the fight, which he should.

I used to like GGG, hes such a ****ing joke now. He wont leave 160 and wants everyone from 147 and 154 to come to him.

Not really impressed with a lot of the newer guys out there and all of there crap. Same with guys like Khan and Thurman fighting crap opponents.

Im trying real hard to like Canelo. Atleast he took high risk low reward fights with Trout and Lara. I dont count floyd because everyone will fight him for the money.

I think after Cotto, there is a pretty legit chance Canelo goes after GGG, hes got balls, which nobody else seems to have these days.

Whats there to read in the article that the headline doesnt already say? He's not COMPLETELY rejecting the idea of fighting BHop. And on top of all, he hit us with the "our focus is to unify 160" classic bs. If that's the case then why are they calling for Ward and Froch? My guess is that he's trying to backtrack so that peoole forget the whole catchweight thing.
