Most, if not all MMA fighters are salty and starving for attention.
Actually, what better way to gain attention than to use a more popular figure in your conversation at every chance. Rousey as well as other MMA fighters are trying to use every angle they can to promote their efforts and no one can blame them. But let's keep things in perspective, Floyd, even with all his faults is a media magnet. And its becoming a common practice for boxer's as well as MMA fighters to use Floyd's name to gain publicity.
Think of how many fighters who talk about Floyd almost with every breath they take. Aside of keeping their name associated with Floyd's, they really have no other means to draw attention to their boxing efforts. In fact, many that employ this publicity stunt, of-times have less than stellar careers. And again, what better way to gain attention than to use the P4P best's name at every chance you get.
Slice it any way you like, but it all boils down to publicity gained through publicity stunts.
Side-note: Rousey should be grateful that the feminist movement is peaking at just the right time, because its difficult to imagine that reality not playing a role in her being awarded over both Floyd and GGG.Comment

Rhonda should've just accepted her award, shown a little class and not even mentioned Floyd. She should actually be embarrassed for being given the award over Floyd in the first place. As if her level of competition is somehow is in the same stratosphere as Floyd's. It's a joke..it's should be called the "Politically Correct Fighter of the Year".Comment
