Comments Thread For: Arum Eyes Terence Crawford-Mauricio Herrera on 10/24

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes WBO junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford (26-0, 18KOs), says he would like to have his fighter face Mauricio Herrera (22-5, 7KOs) on October 24th in Omaha.

Herrera returned this past Saturday night, winning a fifth round technical decision over Hank Lundy. Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions, who promote Herrera, have very good relationship and the possibility of a deal coming together would be good.

I like it, but I'd rather Herrera get a more winnable fight against the Matthysse/Postol winner. Although I guess it's arguable whether that is a more winnable fight.

2 of my favorite fighters going at it, I dont like it one bit. Gut tells me TC but its not a fight he will look good in, no one win or lose looks good aganist Herrera. Id rather see Herrera get a belt and then make it a unification.

Herrera is a tricky boxer with experience against good opposition. But it won't be enough. It'll be a good name for Terrance's resume. Crawford by wide UD.

Not a terrible fight for Crawford. I think he will win.

I like Herrera but he loses to TC via clear decision.

Great fight. Top fighters fighting each other is always good to see. I think Crawford may just take the UD on volume alone. Herrera needs a heavier punch to really make him more dangerous. His skills carry him, but the lack of power makes it more difficult than it has to be.
