Comments Thread For: Cotto-Canelo: Meeting Set To Finalize The Details

A meeting has been set for today, where promotional companies Golden Boy Promotions and Roc Nation Sports will come together to work out the missing details for a finalized agreement that would see WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico defend his crown against Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Both sides agree the fight will take place in November on HBO Pay-Per-View, and likely at the MGM Grand or the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Ugh, sounds like an issue with the negotiations. I would imagine this fight HAS to be made as they have made some sort of contractual obligations to fight eachother.

The Battle Of The Cowards! $59.99 to watch two cowards who avoided the best fighter in the sport go at it! SMH. Disgusting.

If they both take a dive in the 1st rd to avoid GGG, will that make the title vacant or will they just hand it to Golovkin? Honest question.

Great Fight!! I think canelo punishes Cotto late in the fight and gets a late Round stoppage, then bring on GGG early next year..

I think Canelo will step up if he wins. What else would he do? He can't make 154 anymore and he's fought risky guys like Lara when nobody was forcing him.

Cotto? Doubt it. If by some miracle he beats Canelo expect 2 years of milking vs disabled no hopers.

Barring any hiccups, this could be wrapped up in the next couple of weeks. This year has been insane for boxing so far and it looks like it'll be that way all year long.
