Putting the money in a basic interest bearing account even at 0.5% would bring in more profit. There are many more ways to turn a profit much quicker than this poorly thought out enterprise.

I do not see PBC lasting past the initial investment money which the investors will end up writing up as a tax loss. They would get a better return giving the money away to various charitable causes instead.
i doubt 10 years would be the time frame, and considering that the price of everything on the market continues to increase, while the number of boxing ppv draw atheletes decreases, a lot of those fans (not hardcore) will switch to alternatives especially if one man is apart of the majority of names thats the cheaper alternative. i think al is mostly banking on the ppv model being dropped or diminished very low and the number of cable cards from showtime and hbo to decrease while he continue to sign fighters that'll command attention sooner or later.

just look at the LHW for instance:
kovalev is the wba ibf and wbo champion
stevenson is the wbc and lineal champ

after mohammedi, kovalev can either fight ward, chilemba or a rematch with pascal. but if there aren't any one of those names, fonfara and beterbiev already are in a position to mandate for kovalevs belts and those are haymon guys, haymon won't put them in the ring with stevenson since duva chose not to do a purse bid with them, he'd rather them force duva to keep dropping which will bring down kovalevs appeal and draw.

Who's building stars in 4 months? PBC has only been around 4 months & most of the guys Haymon has signed he's probably done in the last 6 months give or take.

Plus the boxer actually plays into making themselves a star too. 99% of guys won't be stars & its mostly cuz they aren't talented enough. Give PBC some time they have many potential stars, Danny Garcia showed a bunch of promise vs Matthysse (granted he ain't did much since, but he's got potential still), Errol Spence seems assured of becoming a star to one degree or another its just an issue of time, Artur Beterbiev could become one of the biggest things in boxing with a GGG like following if he keeps up his destructive ways, Keith Thurman seems right on the verge of becoming a big deal, Deontay Wilder could prop up the HW division in the US if he's half as capable as his fans believe, Erickson Lubin has been hyped as a future star since his pro debut, Sammy Vazquez could get some Arturo Gatti type following with his gritty fun style & there are probably another half dozen plus guys with under 10 fights who are still to early in their career to really be talked about as future stars vs who they've fought thus far.

There are a ton of potential stars in the Haymon roster, but its more fun for people to just say all the things PBC hasn't accomplished in their short duration of activity than it is to look a little deeper at the reality.

But if no advertisers buy in, there is no TV deal. No big name sponsors have stepped up yet, and with under performing ratings, they're likely not going to.

For anyone wondering how many years the investors are willing to pay these types of fees:

While Caldwell would not discuss funding specifically, he said that Waddell & Reed invested considerably more than Haymon requested in the initial business plan.

“Al said, ‘I think I can pull this off for x,’” Caldwell said. “And I turned around and said ‘Absolutely not. It’s x-plus or we don’t do it.’ You have to be capitalized for three to five years to do this. To weather the storm. Because in some regards you were going to be the irrational player for a while.

“You’re turning the model completely upside down.”

and this is what they hope to achieve:

“What we anticipated was this: We think there’s a latent boxing audience that is unreached by the current distribution system. We think if we expose the sport and the kids and their stories to that audience we can immediately have a bigger fan base than exists in the sport today because it is underserved. We think there’s a demo overlay that fits on top of those … fans that advertisers would love to get to as the face of this country continues to look different over the next 10 years.

“We think we have that. Now, we have to prove it out.”

Lmao, at making it sound like Haymon just started in the boxing business with PBC.

Haymon has been in this sport almost 10 years now, ain't built ONE start from scratch yet!

Matter of fact, he just stole a star from top rank, it took him one fight to ruin what top rank took years to build up. Chavez Jr.

he's been in boxing more than 10 years, but i think he did a great job with Forrest taking him from unknown to fighter of the year. he's also got a few young guns with talent that can go far, spence and the unknown Erickson Lubin can becomes stars, we'll see.

Advertisers buy space for shows with far worse ratings than PBC. They will definitely advertise on PBC..

Not as great as I thought it'd be.....also is it just me or is promotion for these events going down?
Initial NBC show, stuff was everywhere... then, to me, I saw less and less over the next two NBC primetime shows.....
For this, I heard there wasn't even that much local promotion for the fight in Tampa

Would've held off on this for a bit, to at least put up a full report.

The linked site makes no reference to what time span is being measure (rating for a 30-minute/60-minute/90-minute/120-minute program?), and how the early night figured in.
