  • Comments Thread For: Carl Frampton Seeking Greater Exposure in United States

Carl Frampton has drawn big crowds in Northern Ireland. He now wants to crossover, both figuratively and literally, by becoming a known commodity on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean in America.

The junior-featherweight titleholder will get his first chance on July 18, when he takes on Alejandro Gonzalez in the main event of a late afternoon/early evening “Premier Boxing Champions” card being shown from El Paso, Texas, on CBS in the United States and, similarly, on a broadcast network in the United Kingdom. This is Frampton’s first bout under adviser Al Haymon.

His opponent is only 22 and most likely tough like other Mexican fighters but this dude ducked Rigo to fight a guy who's fought nothing but club fighters.

Frampton could of made a big name for himself

What if he loses? He's taking a big risk.

Frampton never fought a young Mexican warrior. He may be too gritty for him.

Well he's definitely taking a good step if that's what he's trying to do.I like Frampton. I've only seen him fight just a bit, but he's really skillful and he's in his prime and, at and around the weight, he has good fighters to fight so he has a chance to become really big in my opinion.

"too gritty"? You make it sound like Frampton is some shrinking violet. Have you seen him box?

Frampton will be way too much for the guy, it will showcase him nicely for his first fight in the states.

Let's hope gritty shows up to fight. From what I've seen of Frampton, he wont be hard to find. This will be a face first fiesta, as Frampton wants to impress, short and sweet.
