If he did avoid the fight, Idk why. It was an easy fight.

But he hasn't fought since the surgery so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Simply cause I doubt he would sit out this long just to make it seem legit that he did get surgery. I doubt anyone would go thru this much trouble when they could had been fighting making money.
But if I asked you to make a short list of names of people in boxing who might go through with such an elaborate plan, would David Haye's name be on that list?

I think Haye wins by KO but if it goes past 7 rounds then I think Fury wins on points or late round KO. It's anybody's fight really. It's a close match. Fury has size and stamina while Haye has speed and one punch fight ending power. Neither of them take a punch very well. As has been pointed out, Fury was ready to fight but Haye wasn't. I don't think Haye knows what the hell he is going to do next most of the time. A long time ago he swore he would retire on his 31st birthday.

Haye by KO. I don't think Haye was that good of a HW, he really struggled with taller fighters, Valuev & Klitschko. The same Valuev that went toe to toe with Ruiz and Holyfield.

The one punch Haye throws successfully against taller fighters, his overhand right, just so happens to be the punch Fury is most susceptible to. Fury keeps his left so low he's wide open to it, I believe this punch is responsible for 90% of his knock downs in his career. This is the same punch he got hit with against Cunningham, and it was telegraphed too, it's ridiculous he got hit with that punch. If Cunningham could drop him with that telegraphed punch, Haye would KO him with it.

Fury would have ripped Haye to pieces in close. Haye has nothing to deal with Fury's inside fighting.

Haye was just a D list celebrity moonlighting as a boxer without a fighting bone in his body.

He never looked any good against big HWs. His record at the weight is a joke and now is retired for the simple reason he was never a real HW.

Back in 2013 I would have picked Haye. However Fury has improved big time since then so now i'd have to go with Fury.
