Comments Thread For: Quigg's Trainer Anticipates Donaire as Next Opponent

World WBA super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg may face Nonito Donaire if gets past Kiko Martinez on Saturday night, says trainer Joe Gallagher.

The Lancastrian puts his belt on the line on a huge night of Sky Sports boxing and with talks over a potential unification clash with Carl Frampton continuing to stall, Gallagher is hoping Quigg can book a clash with former champion Donaire - providing he overcomes Martinez.

Donaire will become a champion again at 122 unless karl pilkingtons theory is true and asians infact mature faster than any other race. None the less i doubt quigg gets through martinez let alone donaire

        This is BS from Gallagher.

If anything, he's holding Quigg back.

Quigg's a weird looking guy with those big staring eyes of his and he's hardly the most articulate speaker but none of that has any bearing on his standing as a fighter, even though I suspect some allow such things to cloud their judgement. What I see is a solid guy with decent weapons, very dedicated, physically strong, fiercely determined. I like Kiko. He comes to fight, gives his all and guarantees entertainment. He's also a reliable yardstick. I think Scott Quigg does a job on him.
