The guy conveys his opinions like a moron but he undeniably makes some very sound points...
I mean the fact that wilder can call himself champion outside the privacy of his home and have it legitimized is a joke. ..
Boxing does have many problems and it needs d huge in house cleaningComment

I mean would anybody actually say boxing doesn't have so many issues and is in terrible need of change?Comment

But UFC model is no better.
Boxing is like how libertarians who take it full ****** would have it... UFC model is how communist libtards would have it.Comment

This guy is an idiot. I can only name two ufc fighters, Rousey and Mcgregor, and i only heard of him because of thread someone made about him on here. I have never seen either one of their fights.Comment

His overall message is pretty much true. Boxing is mostly showcase fights where we already know who is supposed to win and we spend more time talking about contractual disputes and salaries than we do breaking down current fights. Sometimes it's hard to stay interested and it's near impossible to get new fans into it.
Pac-Floyd is the epitome. I was never remotely interested in buying that PPV. All of you knew it would be a boring fight between a point-boxer and a washed up/KTFO puncher chasing him around hitting air after 6 years of bartering.
Boxing people all conceded this is how it would go but they were too caught up in the celebrity bull**** and financial gossip and had to watch the trainwreck play out. End result: Millions of casual viewers getting ripped off and asking "WTF is this garbage?".
However his mid article digression is really lame:
"...the prison sentence of Mike Tyson, the ear bite, and things went downhill from there."
Um no... Nobody stopped watching boxing because of an ear bite or Mike's prison sentence. In fact as a kid I can't remember a time when more people were talking about boxing.
"No big fights are coming up. That's it. Ali, Hearns, Leonard, Hagler, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes and Mancini are not walking through the door."
I sense a theme... Sounds like a butthurt old nostalgist who can't admit his US idols were long ago eclipsed by the global scene. A clinger. Sees UFC as an escape route but guess what. The same thing is happening there. What used to be a wall of American champions is now less than half.Last edited by ////; 07-12-2015, 10:24 PM.Comment

Both boxing and MMA are niche sports. Neither will ever attract a mainstream audience beyond the occasional fight and a handful of fighters. Boxing has Mayweather & Pacquiao, and MMA has Rousey & now McGregor. Nobody else cares beyond those mentioned.
But if you're an MMA fan, you have a hell of a lot more to be happy and satisfied with than if you were a boxing fan. Being a boxing fan is a very negative experience where fans spend more time discussing fights that aren't and have little to no chance of happening than fights that actually are happening.
It's at least structured somewhat like a sport. The rankings actually serve a purpose, contenders fight one another all the time & champions cannot avoid or duck top contenders.Comment

Yep, but 90% of them will probably never pay for another fight after "the farce of the century".
Number 1 and 2 in the sport putting on an sorry display like that will only damage boxing in the long run.Comment
