It was funny to see him literally running at one point from Collazo with all his "one time" talk the Thurman I saw last night would have trouble with Porter or Maidana guys that come forward jab and can take a punch...

That was a perfect liver shot and probably would've hurt anyone. Thurman, took the shot, held on until he recovered, and came out the next round and fought well.

No Thurman is ready! A great body shot that likely would have floored any other fighter doesn't all of a sudden mean Thurman is not good well besides on this forum where the Boxing Trolls Dwell.

I thought Thurman looked sharp up until the body shot. I do think his backfoot fighting while it is nice to show Versatility, he takes away from his own Power when he is constantly moving. He was blasting people out when he fought more flat footed and was walking his opponents down. Sure Thurman has his flaws but of the new Welterweights he impress me probably the most along with Kell Brook because both show Versatility

Thurman vs Khan! No reason why that fight shouldn't happen next, or Thurman vs Brook or Porter. I would love to see how Thurman does with Porter Pressure and Inside Fighting and Strength

Thurman when he is fighting off of his backfood he tends to raise both of his hands up leaving that body wide open, need to correct that.

This is just another fighter falling victim to unrealistic expectations that were put on him. We need Thurman/Bradley/Porter/Khan/Brook to all fight each other to establish the best welterweight post 9/12.

yea i agree, this isnt a video game. hell even in the video game its near impossible to go thru a fight without getting rocked or hit. i dont understand what people expect to happen. do they want thurman to stand from across the ring and KO his opponents with superpowers or somthing lol

Thurman still a good fighter, but now he looks defensive/too cautious, runs a whole lot, i feel a pressure fighter with power could be too much for him. Keith has the tools though if he fights more aggressive.

He is losing his fear factor, that is for sure.

Of course he needs more time before facing Mayweather. The problem is, he has run out of time, and he would never beat Mayweather anyway.

The Bundu fight proved that, not the Collazo fight.

Just got around to watching the fight and I think people are being overly critical about his performance.

Not really, they are pointing out that his performance did not match his hype.

Even you admitted that.

I guess that is the result of not fighting a top quality opponent though, people's expectation get set high.

But, then how could Thurman be prepared for Mayweather ?

I think he is still a solid boxer, granted his "one time" power may have been overrated.

" solid ", should not really be mentioned in the same sentence as Mayweather.

Especially if his power is over-rated.

All that said, I don't think he would be a good opponent for Mayweather. Would like to see Thurman take on a top ten welter next.

They all should !

They all need to fight each other.

The current crop of welters fall waaay short of Mayweather.
