I can't figure out if Taylor is a victim of chronic traumatic encephalopathy or if in fact he always had a hidden dark side to him.

It's pretty obvious what the correct answer is.

How can you say it's obvious? CTE turns people with no history of insanity into monsters like Chris Benoit who killed his family and then himself. There are numerous documented cases of athletes in sports where head trauma is prevalent of changes that lead to violent insane behaviour. Then there's drug abuse of course. But I don't know of any early deviant behaviour from Taylor...prior to all the KO's he substantiated he appeared mild mannered. But there may have been a darker side from his earlier days that didn't surface in the media about him. Some people are just born bad.

Taylor seems to have the same thing. Hes only 36, I dont think he will make it much past 40.
damn I remember that. CTE is no joke. I hope Taylor gets better honestly.

It's important to remember the risks Boxers and Football players take with CTE and brain damage. I think we need better screening and testing, Taylor is just the latest boxer to start acting strange, Most fighters end up with premature senility at some point. And Lou Dibella publicly refused to work with Taylor post abraham/comeback out of concern for his health..

I wouldn't say it's obvious. Taylor had a good public image and was known as a good guy, but you can only base so much on public images.

Still, my guess is that there is some brain trauma. Luckily he hasn't killed anyone yet, or himself, but it looks like he is going down that path.

Shooting his cousin, threatening to kill some guy for dropping his title belt? He's a walking time bomb.

It's addict behavior. They go through cycles, especially if they are manic-depressive. Seemed to be doing good for a while and then spin out of control in a short span of time...like 3-6 months....felony after felony.....heavy drug use and drinking. It's a sickness and they think they are all good when the manic stages hit...like it is justification that there never was a problem to acknowledge.
