  • I don't know why people take sides when it comes to PBC vs The Rest, instead we should be hoping these guys start working together. This is just preventing us boxing fans from getting some good fights. Both sides have their rights and wrongs, neither is perfect. This drama created is just affecting us boxing fans. PBC gives their fighters more opportunities imo, that's why you have so many fighters signing with Haymon.

This makes me feel more confident in my prediction that Kovalev vs Ward might happen next year. Ward doesn't have anyone to fight at 168, Kovalev is running out of opponents at 175.

Green k. Why is everyone so gung-ho to make PBC out to be this evil empire? Based on the number of fighters signing on, what is this alternative that you support?

I LOVE Haymon working with Hearn. You talk about two guys in the sport respected fighters and by their peers. Hearn kept stressing that Haymon is not a promoter and that DeGale is still contracted to him. Sounds like he understands that DeGale is making the a good career move and since he's got him in stable, he stands to benefit from it. Or wait, is Hearn just another puppet/sham promoter like DiBella? Whatever.

You know how boxing fans are, bunch of haters lol. I love PBC, they've been here for four months and has given us good fights. You can't expect them to give us all of their A+ fights right away, that's what people don't understand. Haymon treats all of his fighters with respect. He gives them all TV coverage, 3-4 fights a year, good pay. Compare that to HBO, they can't afford to have their fighters fight so many times a year; that's why you see fighters like Lomachenko, Crawford, Walters only fighting twice a year. That's not good, these guys need to develop both their styles and fan bases.
Golden Boy and Top Rank are the ones burning bridges with Haymon, instead they should try to work together. Imagine having fights on PBC and others on HBO (that's if Haymon also wants to work with HBO after all that's gone down). That's what we as boxing fans need, not this picking sides. This won't do anything for us.

        • We better get a book on Al Haymon when his time in boxing is over

          • He can spin it however he wants but Hearn can't be happy about this. Haymon will have more control and decide when and where James fights. Wouldn't be surprised if Haymon starts to approach Brook and Selby.

It's still early, the PBC's completed the equivalent to one quarter. If you did a projection based on the current accomplishments (falling ratings and poor ticket sales, with no real movement on fighter branding) given the money spent on a per fight basis, they'd be talking about either replacing the people running the company or pulling the plug on the whole project. I expect those conversations to take place shortly after the second quarter.
              lol

Outside of the first card, which ran headlong against a NASCAR event, if I recall correctly, the PBC telecasts have delivered the top ratings number in the 18-54 demographic, the only demographic that advertisers care about, against competing programming.

PBC's project is expected to run over the course of three years and, four months into it, you are already bent on selling the effort as a failure, when any objective look at the events would tell a different story.

apologies for Haymon walking out on your mom or something; only logical reason why you'd keep with the bull****.

Well we'll never get to see Ward vs. DeGale which could have been a very good fight.

DeGale & Dirrell split a $3.1 million purses 50/50 for an afternoon fight that got no solid rantings, Fighter should be jumping to fight on the PBC easy money

                    • Anyone not managed by (or at least on good terms with) Haymon will have difficulty finding opponents.
