Comments Thread For: Atlas Promises 'Same Old Teddy' During PBC's ESPN Run

ESPN's Friday Night Fights (FNF) was a weekly staple for boxing fans. During its season, it was a weekly avenue for boxing fans to get their fix for 17 years. Saturday is the dawn of a new era as Friday Night Fight’s replacement, Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on ESPN, makes its debut from Tampa, headlined by Keith Thurman (25-0, 21 KO’s).

FNF's expert analyst Teddy Atlas was as much a staple as the Friday Night Fights program was through the years. His voice that resonated with the series. So for him it also begins a new era. But with the new series, it’s the same old Teddy Atlas.

Atlas as a commentator reminds me of a white version of Charles Barkley, always talking out of his ass & putting his foot in his mouth with his hypocritical statements.

I don't think anyone can rein him in, he's just going to say whatever the hell he wants anyway. People on here will get all butthurt about it just like always.

still..all these promoters and networks ONLY ***ing with ONE team is bad for our sport. Haymon wont do business with this guy Arum wont do business this that guy...DLH wont do business with this guy...blah blah blah.

Id love to see Bradley and Floyd. Will we? Nope. Cant! Thats just to name a couple of fights we are missing. Maybe Haymon plan is to weed out all the others and gain control of Boxing as a whole and give us the best fights. Still to soon to know!

Easy to talk but dude got bills to pay and I dont see him having any other work line up for him so either do it the haymon way or kick rocks and starve.

how people dont like teddy atlas is beyond me. so the guy called out a fighter you like big ****ing deal. the guy has been on the side of the fans for years and is the only announcer willing to tell it like it is. ya he has a big mouth and hes not always right but so what the fact people dont like teddy simply because he says what he feels is ridiculous. I mean seriously how can you not like this guy hes like the uncle who says whatever he wants to say and is not always right but when u need him to stand up for something no one else will hes there. I mean look at this guy how can u not like him

Teddy will make PBC shows infinitely better so long as he keeps his usual style and gives his honest opinions. I hope ESPN suits made this a requirement of doing business with PBC.

In my personal experience Teddy is a great guy to talk to. Ive sat with him a few times and talked to him about a lot of things in Boxing. He was way more relaxed when the cameras are not on. During and right after the fights Tedddy is amp'ed up. He passionate about his sport and job. Great guy though!
