Senior has aged well considering all the wars he was in, good to see one of the goats out and about. Im pretty sure senior still puts in harder work than his son ...
two guys with great chins and crowd pleasing styles. it's too bad that you need more than that to succeed in boxing. i really had high hopes for arreola. it's still possible that he can turn his career around, but you tend to doubt it.
arreola has some skill for a big. he can box, punch, weather the storm, etc. his legs fail him because of his conditioning. dude should be 225 lbs. nobody is sayiung tat he should be ripped like wilder, but a guy who has that level of comfort in the ring should be able to box 12 rounds without gassing out.
it's almost understandable that chavez jr doesn't have the drive to be a great boxer. he's the son of a legend, and appears to enjoy the good life. he boxes for a job / money. i don't think he's got the desire to be a great, or even a very good. given that he's not going to be able to take drugs and shrink down to 160 lbs any longer, you've got to figure that he's peaked.
JR makes a TON of money when he fights. other than pacquiao, floyd, klitschko, cotto, canelo, he's one of the best paid fighters in the sport.
canelo, floyd, klitschko, pacquiao, and cotto are all known for their dedication. it's no surprise that they're very good - great.
Arreola looks absolutely terrible in these photos. smh.
Not sure what they're going to do with him going forward; no way in hell they put Arreola on arguably their biggest possible stage, against Deontay Wilder, looking like utter ****.
